The Sixth Annual Christmas Concert to Fight Child Abuse will be held at Clair on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at 2 p.m. This wonderful musical event benefits the NW Mo. Children's Advocacy Center in St. Joseph. That facility serves 9 NW Mo. counties - providing a child friendly environment in which abused children can be interviewed by police; as well as free counseling for as long as the children need it. Area music professionals join together to donate their time and talent for this worthy cause. A free will offering is collected at the door. It's one Christmas concert you won't want to miss!

SLUGS AND BUGS LIVE COMES TO ST. JOSEPH OCTOBER 20!
Featuring Randall Goodgame from Nashville, TN
Join us Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Clair United Methodist Church, 2 SE 68th Rd., St. Joseph, MO (1 mile east of Colony House). Children’s fun activities begin at 3 p.m. – followed by the Slugs and Bugs concert at 4 p.m. Don’t miss a joy-filled musical experience featuring animated videos, energetic vocals, and exuberant piano, guitar and mandolin instrumentals!
Randall Goodgame (former “Silly Song” writer for VEGGIETALES) is a former worship pastor and the driving force behind Slugs and Bugs. Randall has brought the Slugs and Bugs Live concert into 30 states and Canada. Slugs and Bugs videos have surpassed 1.13 million views on YouTube, and most importantly, countless families have been encouraged toward a deeper walk with Jesus while having a great time together.
They specifically gear the show toward kids 5th grade and younger and their parents (the concert is for parents and kids to have fun together). However, when older kids do attend, they enjoy it too! Age appropriate Gospel encouragements are woven throughout the concert, and Randall's heart is for each child to leave with a deeper understanding of Jesus' love for them.
Slugs and Bugs music rollicks from bluegrass to Dixieland to folk-pop to arena rock with songs
you will remember long after the concert is over. Concert admission is FREE. .

Slugs & Bugs is for kids and parents. Our children need to learn that life with Jesus is a life of joy and celebration, and we parents need to remember that very same thing. Slugs & Bugs aims to provide a context for parents and kids to learn and remember together the joy of life in Christ, while also having a super-great time with silly songs about grizzly bears that don't wear underwear.
The Slugs & Bugs worldview rejects the compartmentalization of life into sacred and secular and declares with great (and silly) gusto that Christ is the head of all things. He is the head of kite flying and river floating, ice fishing and sky diving, nap taking and diaper changing.
Our small hope is that kids will love the music and parents will too. Our grand hope is that Slugs & Bugs kids would one day grow up and find it natural to remember Jesus in their homework, in their work, in their friendships and even in the parenting of our grandkids.
SLUGS AND BUGS LIVE
Slugs and Bugs Live is approximately 1 hour, with live music, animated video and background musical tracks that extend through all the songs. The concert is geared toward boys and girls age 10 and under with fun interactive moments, and also teaching moments during the program. Some of the material is ridiculously silly, and some of it is deeply meaningful and gospel centered. Slugs and Bugs Live is a wonderful time as you can see by the church staff testimonials below, and Randall leaves the kids (and maybe the parents!) with a deepening awareness of the presence of Jesus in their lives.
